(The Bible also says, “Buy truth — don’t sell it for love or money; buy wisdom, buy education, buy insight” (Proverbs 23:23 The Message). God wants you to develop skills and educate yourself so that you can become the kind of person he has shaped you to be.....Whenever we use our money to take a class or learn something that makes us more of who or what God wants us to be, we’re investing in our growth. And God is smiling because we’re using our money in the right way....)
The reason those words were important to me was because I have spent the last few weeks, and will be on coming weeks for the toughest training I've ever had in cyber security. I face roadblocks every step of the way. Each hurdle is a learning moment. Every exercise is a puzzle to solve and it is easy to get discouraged. I was doubting, "Lord, I will be 59 this month and I'm not sure I am as sharp anymore and perhaps I should just glide into my final years." When that Bible verse landed in my inbox I knew He was sending me encouraging words. He is my encourager and that's enough for me to try harder.
Christ prepares us to walk by faith. He has done it in my life. I can do all things through Him, meaning, I desire to be abiding in the Vine as a branch. His presence is my goal in all things.
